Cathy Chalack



Cathy Chalack comes from four generations of equine enthusiasts. Her riding
career began at the age of three by riding horses at the family ranch. Her
passion for horses continued through seven years of 4-H as a member and junior
leader.Chalack expanded her equine knowledge by Graduating from the Pacific
Horse Center in California, USA, studying under the expertise of Larry Langer;
Benette Kurtze; Dennis Callen; Patsy Parentise; and Joanne Dowling. She then
attended The University of Calgary and graduated with a Bachelor of Education.
Chalack has been an active member in the horse industry for over 40 years. She
has sucessfully showed on the ‘A’ Circuit in California and Alberta for over 20
years. Chalack has been a member of The English Coaching Committee for Alberta
since 2001. She teaches the Equine Science: English Horsemanship Major at Olds
College since 2001, where she trained the Canadian team for the Intercollegiant
World Equestrian Cup to their championship in 2007 and College Challenge in
2010. She is a certified Equine Canada Competition Coach, Warmblood Inspector,
and NCCP course conductor and evaluator. Chalack is the owner of Ulterra Pony
Farm,breeding top performance ponies for youth, Co-manager of IST Syndicates,
which focuses on thoroughbreds for Olympic disciplines, and Co-manager of Aces
Training Center. Her mentors include Sandy Alexander, Judy Wardrope and Trish
Mrakawa. Cathy Chalack currently resides in Carstairs, Alberta with her family.

Lauren Hines



Lauren Hines was born and raised in Ontario where she rode and competed since
the age of 10. She has worked for and trained under Piet Raymakers, Netherland
Olympic Rider, Laurre Cunningham, Tahquitz Equestrian Center (California, USA).
Hines has been an active member of the horse industry for 15 years. She has
graduated from Olds College, Equine Science: English Horsemanship Major. Hines
was the Head Coach at Cedar Sand Stables in Ontario. She is a certified Equine
Canada Intro. Comp. coach. Hines is currently training horses for and
competing horses on the ‘A’ circuit in the hunters and jumper classes.
Her goal is to show in the grand prix jumping (Sponsors Always Welcome). She
professionally trains young horses and enjoys helping them to reach their full
potential. Hines’ mentors include Trish Mrakawa and Cathy Chalack. Lauren Hines
currently resides in Cairstairs, Alberta.
